Although IVF is costly we have made every effort to keep our fees as reasonable as possible and offer a variety of financial options. At RMSCVA we offer lower prices compared to most of the other clinics in our region and, most importantly, consistently excellent pregnancy rates. We are a highly cost-effective program and have great pride in the quality of our individualized care.
FOR PATIENT’S WITHOUT IVF INSURANCE COVERAGE:
Approximately 90% of our patients do not have medical insurance which covers IVF. Our IVF fee reflects a discounted “package price” and will cover the vast majority of what occurs during the IVF treatment. This includes: all ultrasounds during ovarian stimulation and blood tests done to monitor the egg stimulation, egg retrieval fees (surgeon, anesthesia), laboratory charges for sperm preparation on the day of egg retrieval, egg search, egg and embryo culture, and embryo transfer. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and embryo cryopreservation will incur additional fees.
Preliminary testing (IVF sperm evaluation, a trial embryo transfer and antral follicle count, uterine cavity assessment [SIS or HSG], blood tests for ovarian reserve and infectious disease testing) are not included in the fee but in many cases are billable to your insurance company as “testing.” Medications used for IVF are not included in the fee. The fee for an IVF cycle must be paid before treatment can be scheduled.
FOR PATIENTS WITH INSURANCE COVERAGE:
Some insurance carriers are covering IVF. Our office can assist you in determining your coverage and arranging preauthorization if needed. This will allow direct billing of your IVF expenses to your insurance carrier. This must be done before treatment can be scheduled. The total billed to insurance will be more than the quoted package price above because of the high cost of billing. Be aware that if your insurance carrier does not participate with RMSCVA, you will be responsible for the portion of the fee that they don’t cover.
