The Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Center of Virginia (RMSCVA) fertility clinic strives to offer the best in medical and technical expertise
in treating patients with fertility challenges. A successful
program, however, is not limited to medical expertise alone,
but recognizes that the "whole" person is affected.
For most couples, fertility challenges and the treatment
involved is an emotional roller coaster. Sometimes powerful
feelings emerge that may seem frightening or confusing. Having
these strong feelings is not a sign of psychological weakness,
but simply a by-product of prolonged stress. A loss of control
and feelings of helplessness are quite common. Many couples
have found it helpful to have some sessions with a professional
trained to help people experiencing emotional stress.
As an adjunct to our fertility treatment program, we have available the services
of Marcella Jost, a licensed clinical social worker, (434) 977-1511
who has experience and a special interest in working with couples
dealing with fertility challenges, recurrent
pregnancy loss and other issues common to our practice.
Ms. Jost is in private practice and sees people experiencing
many different kinds of emotional difficulties. She is also
a skilled marital therapist and also has experience with adoption
counseling. If at any time you feel the need for additional
support, please let us know.
Learning effective strategies to deal with stress is a key component
because it is difficult to know how long the treatment(s) will
take. We offer RMSCVA-affiliated discounts at a local health,
wellness and fitness club, called Atlantic Coast Athletic Club
(ACAC). Integral Yoga is located in this building on the third
floor. |
